I come from a family of five. At one time in my family, there were three of us going to college at one time. Thanks to a chance encounter, my parents got the guidance they needed to help put us through college.

After graduating college, I started to think what I wanted to do with my life and I quickly realized that there had to be other parents just like mine. My dad worked 41 years for the airline industry. They scrimped and saved to raise 5 children and put us through college. I realized then and there that parents need help to put their children through college.

If I could accelerate the learning curve for other families by providing the wisdom I gained through our mistakes and trials of college, that would be a life’s work well spent. That's when Educational Funding and Financial Aid Specialists was born to later be renamed Help Me Afford College.

For the last 19 years, I have helped families prepare for college. It is my occupation, and my passion. Not many people can say those two items in the same sentence.
